This week, it's all about MISS REPRESENTATION!
The official word on this film is that it "explores how the media's misrepresentations of women have led to the underrepresentation of women in positions of power and influence." We hope that you come to see Miss Representation to become more informed, feel more empowered, and to learn to view media with a more critical eye.
talkofthetown.name (that's Jody, Barb and Christine), are so excited to bring this documentary to the Horizon Stage in Spruce Grove! Come check it out on May 6 at 2:00 pm. We have a whole afternoon planned for you--guest speakers, including the tri-area mayors, an original song written and performed by Brandi Morin, and a presentation after the film by Amanda Welliver of Paradigm Esteem. Whew! All this for only $20.00, with the proceeds going to the local FCSS Family Violence Prevention Program and The Healing Seed. What are you waiting for?
